THE PROBLEM

Chronic wounds are non-healing ulcerations that have failed to heal within three months. The annual cost of chronic wounds for the U.S. alone is up to $25B with a mortality rate exceeding that of some cancers. Diagnosing chronic wounds can be challenging and have many shortcomings:

  • Subjective

  • Reactive

  • Requires expertise

THE SOLUTION

Hemadycamics aims to develop a handheld imaging product providing critical information to aid current superficial observation. Allowing quantitative analysis will help prevent the wounds from progressing any further and allow physicians an easier process to access the wounds.

THE NEED

There is a substantial unmet clinical need to supplement subjective categories of DFUs with quantitative data. Current Market Devices are found to be:

  • Complicated to use

  • Difficult to transport in a clinical setting

  • Bulky

  • Expensive
